Never knew what hate was
it was my love for you
that introduced me to it
a love that so completed me
is slowly poisoning
my mind, heart and soul

Hate is
the air around me
the roads I trudge
the sleepless nights
with the ashes of your memories
blackening my mind

Hate is
my new companion
killing every bit of you I knew
making me revengeful
angry, crazy

it’s mere mockery
that you swear
that you loved too
’cause my eyes
having witnessed the truth
now so resent

even a mere illusion of you

Hate is
the distance between us
the nightmares of what happened
it is the remnant
of the inconsolable pain you gave
of the undeserved love you used

So, it’s been a while I’ve wanted to do song posts. This simply means writing a poem or a verse, inspired from songs. This #SongPost is inspired from ‘Quit Playing Games‘ by Backstreet Boys.  Here, hope you enjoy listening to the song. 🙂

You also can participate. It’s really fun. All you have to do is:

Choose a song and write a post around it.
Use the #SongPost tag.
Share a YouTube link of the song for readers to enjoy.
Tag friends you think might love the song.

  1. Hate is the enemy from within. It can poison us into bitterness.. I always find Hate such a strong word.. And we use it so often.. I hate this food,, I hate this Movie.
Which is why over the years I have learned to Dis-Like.. more things than I hate lol

But I Loved….. LOVED your poem.. you spoke of a subject so many fear to voice .. And you also got Hate spot on.. because it will Kill..
“Hate is my new companion killing every bit of you I knew making me revengeful angry, crazy!” Hate is a destroyer and I have seen her at her work..

You have a great talent for poetry and your indepth thoughts are profound.

    Blessing your way

  2. What a fantastic last stanza, not that the any others are less than strongly written of course. That song is certainly a blast from the past as well. Love and hate, such a fine line sometimes…

  3. Hate?

It’s a cumulative effect of things which you don’t like about a person.

Mostly it’s unsaid in the form of silence.

Hate follows due sudden or even gradual betrayal by the person whom you love most.

Let the hate come out in the form of tears.

Hate makes the heart and mind heavy.

It captures our mind in silence.

Let it flow out in the form of tears.

Which will give you a sense of freedom and feeling of lightness
